Refining an ordinary image to evoke beauty and mystery is what gives my creative process life, right from the very first camera click through to post processing. This is the passion that I share.
There are many genres that I have flirted with over the last 9 years but night photography has stuck with me and it is my passion. When all the chatter stops and the day fades away, I am drawn to the darkness to capture the light. I like the solitude and mystery night photography brings. I don’t get out as much as I used to but I have shared some of my favourite night photography images here.
Black and white photography has intrigued me since my childhood.Growing up as a child of the sixties, it’s a genre I am drawn to and feel most comfortable with. I would sit for hours rummaging through old black and white family photos. When the distractions of colours are removed, a black and white photo can be emotive and powerful. It allows us to focus on what’s important and it’s more likely to tell a story.
