I have always been fascinated by Pompeii and was lucky enough to visit some years ago. It is such a wonderful place – parts of it are still so complete that you expect a previous resident to come sweeping in to his villa! Did you get to see Herculaneum also? A smaller site, not far from Pompeii, but some of Herculaneum’s buildings stand full size. A truly memorable visit. Thanks for reminding me through your lovely photos.
